Alexander Unruh, affectionately known as Alex, graced the world with his presence on May 7, 2003, at Lankenau Medical Center in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. From the outset, Alex's life has been a compelling mix of academic focus, athletic dedication, and an unwavering commitment to community service.

Growing up in Bryn Mawr, Alex attended Gladwyne Elementary School and, subsequently, Welsh Valley Middle School, where he showcased an early aptitude for both academics and sports, particularly excelling in baseball and squash. He continued his education at Harriton High School. He spent a significant period at Westminster School in Simsbury, Connecticut, before returning to Harriton in March 2022 to finalize his high school diploma.

During his formative years, Alex  Unruh was notably active in varsity sports, including basketball and baseball, and he captained the squash team. His involvement in sports was paralleled by his participation in the Ozone Art Club and leadership of the spirit committee, evidencing his diverse interests and leadership abilities. His squash skills earned him a national ranking, affirming his athletic prowess and dedication.

A pivotal experience in Alex's athletic and cultural development was a trip to Cuba with his baseball team in eighth grade. This journey provided him with invaluable insights into the broader world of sports and deepened his understanding of different cultural perspectives on athletics. His first year at Westminster School brought further accolades, with Alex receiving All-League honors in squash, highlighting his exceptional skill and commitment.

Alex's character was profoundly shaped by his experiences at Camp Kieve in Nobleboro, Maine. This camp, which emphasizes leadership and the great outdoors, played a crucial role in honing his leadership skills and fostering a deep appreciation for nature. Through challenging activities like hiking Mount Washington and canoeing through the Allagash Wilderness Waterway, Alex developed resilience and teamwork skills that have stayed with him.

Currently, Alexander Unruh is pursuing higher education at Ohio State University, majoring in the sports industry and minoring in political science. This academic path mirrors his lifelong passion for sports and his ambition to make a significant impact in the sports industry. At Ohio State, he has also been an active member of the Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity, where he achieved full membership in the spring of 2024, reflecting his commitment to fraternity life and community involvement.

On the professional front, Alex's work experience is as varied as it is impressive. He began at UPS, gaining a foundational understanding of logistics. He also worked at Zoe’s Kitchen, where he sharpened his customer service skills, and at Camp Kieve, where he returned as a counselor, enhancing his leadership abilities. Currently, he is employed at the Philadelphia Country Club, managing the bag room and occasionally caddying, which ties back to his passion for sports.

In addition to his academic and professional endeavors, Alex Unruh is an avid golfer, skier, and weightlifter. He maintains a golf handicap of 6.3, skis regularly at Blue Mountain in the Poconos, and is committed to supporting peak physical fitness through regular weightlifting.

Community service has always been a significant part of Alex's life. He has actively contributed to organizations such as Cradles to Crayons and Narberth Food Bank and participated in various service trips with his church, demonstrating his dedication to improving the lives of others.
